Do You Have Anxiety or Depression?

I was reading a post on Facebook yesterday and a woman was asking for help in coping with anxiety and panic attacks. Her post was specifically geared towards ideas to help get through it.

Let me tell you though, I’ve been there and mine was definitely related to hormone imbalance. And, there wasn’t anything I really could do to help cope with it. I had to tackle the hormone imbalance to fix it.

In today’s world, it’s so easy for our hormones get out of balance. With the toxins in our skin care, water, food and environment and the stress in our lives, it’s almost a given that it will happen. Estrogen dominance in particular is something very common for both men and women. Symptoms of estrogen dominance in women can include: allergies, anxiety, breast tenderness, breast cancer, depression, fat gain (espeically in the abdomen, hips, and thighs), fatigue, foggy thinking, gallbladder issues, hair loss, infertility, insomnia, miscarriage, uterine fybroids, and many others. I just turned 53 and need to supplement some with progesterone. I hadn’t used much in a while but was just thinking that I was getting more tired and depressed. I used just a small amount and felt much better the next day. I did suggest to her that she should do her own research or see a functional medicine doctor. In my experience, most doctors aren’t very knowledgeable on hormone imbalances. One book I’ve gotten much information from is Hormone Balance Made Simple by Dr. John Lee.

One thing I highly suggest is using clean skin care and makeup and less toxic household cleaners. These things most definitely have an impact on hormones. There are so many great options out there now to pick from and you don’t have to drop a bunch of money for them. Take a look around my blog where I share my favorites 🙂
